Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC), should not have been chosen, according to Najaatu Muhammad.
She claimed that Tinubu’s gaffes at campaign events demonstrated his ill health, which would have an impact on governance if he were to win.
Last Monday, Hajiya Muhammad resigned from her position as the APC Presidential Campaign Council’s director of civil society (PCC).
The outspoken politician claimed in an interview with Thisday that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo would have made a better candidate for the APC.

“He’s a professor, he’s brilliant. For few weeks he was given to govern this country, he did a great job.
“But they said all sort of things against him. Tinubu controls the strongest propaganda machine in this country, which is the Lagos–Ibadan press,” she said.
She remembered how shocked she was when Tinubu apparently acknowledged he didn’t have a plan for the North and asked her to convey what she believed the area need.
Muhammad claimed that the previous Lagos governor’s followers were ungrateful, self-centered, and only interested in the money at their disposal.
The activist claimed that although they are aware of Tinubu’s “incapacity and handicap,” they are also conscious of the fact that “he’s already a cabal that they can depend on for a slice of pie.”
“I haven’t talked to anyone from the North, inside or outside of APC, who has told me or thinks Asiwaju is capable. You know, they’re just suggesting that we need to gain something from it.
The Police Service Commission (PSC) commissioner explained that she followed her conscience by leaving the APC because “to be silent is criminal”.
Muhammad lamented that some Nigerians have allowed themselves to be pulled by the nose, “some out of ignorance, some out of tribal or religious sentiments”.
