On Wednesday, a sizable demonstration against what they perceived to be election tampering in the Federal Capital Territory was organized by Peter Obi’s Labour Party followers.
The demonstrators, who are mainly young people, gathered on Wednesday morning at Abuja’s Unity Fountain to call for the annulment of the allegedly tampered-with presidential election results.
Isaac Balami, the national campaign manager for the Labour Party, claimed that party agents’ results differed from those that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, announced in a conversation with Journalists on the protest grounds.
He said, “We are here to activate the process of getting back out stolen mandate. We believe and we have it on record that APC did not win this election.

“We have our results. The results they announced are not what our agents have. We are not here to fight, we are here to tell the whole world that our mandate has been stolen and we are not going just sit at home and cry”.
Recall that the INEC Chairman, Mahmood Yakubu had announced Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, APC winner of the election.
Tinubu polled a total of 8,794,726 to defeat his closest rivals and candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi of the Labour Party, LP who scored 6,984, 520 and 6,101,533 respectively.
