The immediate resumption of forestry consultants and permits throughout the state has been declared by Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke.
Recall that Adeleke ordered the suspension and revision of the allocation permits for the Tungya agricultural system, sawmills, flinch-sawn evacuation, timber and logs, hammering or release, motor-saws, and plantations or forest reserves in December 2022.

Adeleke highlighted that the lifting of the ban was a result of an ongoing examination of the state’s internal revenue service in a new directive issued on Tuesday, which was made public by Olawale Rasheed, the governor’s spokesperson.
However, he issued a warning to those who hold permits and operate forestry operations to play by the rules and maintain transparency in their day-to-day operations.
In his words, “Any forestry operator who violates operational regulations will be summarily removed from the field.”
