Osun Amotekun nab cultist, gun, axe recovered

Operatives of Osun Amotekun Corps have apprehended a 29-year-old Taiwo Ogunsola, for his alleged membership of an unlawful group.

A statement by the spokesperson of the corps, Yusuf Idowu, on Wednesday in Osogbo, said the suspect was arrested at Olomilagbala area, Ilesa, Osun State.

Idowu further explained that Ogunsola was arrested after a complaint was lodged against him and other members of his gang at Amotekun Ilesa Area Command.

He added that operatives of the corps arrested the suspect at his residence, where a dane gun and axe were also recovered.

“The suspect confessed to being a member of the Eiye confraternity and he has been a member for a long time. The suspect has been on the wanted list of the Osun Police Anti-Cultism Unit for a long time.

“The suspect was arrested at his residence after a complaint was lodged against him by the residents of the Olomilagbala Area, Ilesa on his activities with other gang members.
Amotekun operatives swung into action immediately and burst into his residence and arrested the suspect with a dane gun and axe.

“During interrogation, the suspect confessed to being a member of the Eiye confraternity and he has been a member for a long time.

The suspect has been handed over to the police for subsequent interrogation and prosecution.”
