Jimoh Omiata, a member of the Kogi State House of Assembly who represents Yagba, has passed away.
He was reported to have passed away early on Monday at a hospital in Lagos where he was being treated for an unidentified illness.
The Chief Press Secretary to the Kogi State House of Assembly Speaker, Femi Olugbemi, wrote on his verified Facebook page, “Very sad, we lost a vibrant, articulate and outstanding lawmaker, Hon. Musa Jimoh Omiata, I sympathise with his immediate family, traditional rulers and people of Yagba East State Constituency, may Allah grant his soul perfect rest.”
Omiata, who came from the Igbagun community in the state’s Yagba Local Government, served in the state House of Assembly for two terms. He was the first individual to ever be elected twice to the House from the council district.
