The police in Adamawa State have detained a Man identified to be Muhammed Bala, 22, a tailor, on suspicion of fatally stabbing a rival.
Muhammad, a native of Mararaba in the Madagali LGA, is accused of killing Bakura, a rival from the neighborhood, during an argument about a woman they were reportedly sharing.
In the altercation that took place on February 15 at the home of the 17-year-old Maryam Mohammed, it was claimed that Muhammad was responsible for Bakura’s death.
After dating Bakura for three years, Muhammad claimed he had proposed to her and then admitted to stabbing her in the neck.
According to the Police, Bakura had cautioned Muhammed to stay away from the teenage girl and maintained that she was his.
The situation was thus created when they both arrived at the girl’s house on the fatal day of February 15 and started arguing before Muhammad reportedly stabbed Bakura, who slumped and died instantaneously.
Assuring that the culprit will be charged to court for prosecution, SP Suleiman Nguroje, the police public relations officer (PPRO) in Adamawa State, confirmed the event on Tuesday.
