Rev Canon LumenCristi Eboh, a clergyman in the Anglican Communion, has resigned from his position.
The priest claimed that some elements in the church had driven his wife away and quartered her at an undisclosed location when he announced his retirement at a news conference in Awka, the capital of Anambra State, on Monday.
He accused his diocesan bishop (name withheld) of engaging in a witch hunt, snatching up land, and trying to coerce him into joining the board of a private ministry that he formed.
Eboh, who runs the God in Action Adoration Ministry, a charismatic congregation and prayer ministry, claimed the Anglican Diocese’s diocesan leaders’ harassment, incitement, and conspiracy as his reasons for resigning.
He said: “As I speak, my wife is living differently in an apartment paid for by someone who knows that she is someone’s wife.
“I am only a priest permitted by my communion to enter the sacred institution of marriage. As a married man, I had very private moments with my wife and we shared endearing words just like every young couple. With the crash of my marriage, I have sought to reorder my life, but those fighting me have even sent young women here in an attempt to use prospects of marriage to malign my character and reputation.”

Eboh said that the Bishop’s strong handedness, intimidation, and conspiratorial tactics were at the heart of his struggle with him regarding his involvement in charismatic activities, which ultimately led to his decision to resign.
The priest, a radio and televangelist, further accused the bishop of pressing for the addition of the bishop and his wife to the list of registered trustees of the adoration ministry. The priest rejected this demand on the grounds that God had not revealed the bishop to him as a vessel in the ministry.
He claimed that by refusing to give in to the bishop’s demands to include him as a trustee and to give him control of the adoration ministry’s land, he put himself and the bishop on a collision path.
