The Nigerian film industry, Nollywood, has lost one of its esteemed veterans, Pa Yemi Lawrence Adeyemi, famously known as Suara.
The news of Suara’s passing was officially confirmed by his family on Monday, revealing that he departed on Sunday. The cause of his demise was not disclosed.
Suara’s legacy is deeply etched in the minds of fans, particularly for his memorable role in the Super Story series titled “Oh Father! Oh Daughter!” In this series, he portrayed the character of a polygamist married to Bukky Wright, with Sola Shobowale as his second wife.
The family’s statement reads: “FAMILY STATEMENT: IT IS WITH A HEAVY HEART BUT WITH TOTAL SUBMISSION TO GOD THAT WE ANNOUNCE THE PASSING OF OUR BELOVED HUSBAND, FATHER, GRANDFATHER, BROTHER, UNCLE, OLUYEMI LAWRENCE ADEYEMI (SUARA), WHO WENT TO BE WITH THE LORD ON SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 24, 2023. WE ARE CONSOLED BECAUSE WE KNOW THAT HE HAS GONE TO REST. WE KINDLY REQUEST THAT THE FAMILY BE ALLOWED SOME PRIVACY IN THIS TIME OF GRIEF. MORE DETAILS ABOUT THE BURIAL WILL BE COMMUNICATED SOON.
