Todd Boehly, a co-owner of Chelsea, outlined the reasons for the Blues’ acquisition of Mykhailo Mudryk from Shakhtar Donetsk.
On Sunday, Mudryk, 22, formally committed to Chelsea for eight and a half years.
This was verified by Chelsea in a statement posted on its website over the weekend.
In response, Boehly stated that the Ukrainian winger was signed by Chelsea because he will be a fantastic addition to Graham Potter’s team both now and in the future.
Chelsea’s official website cites co-controlling owners Boehly and Behdad Eghbali as saying: “We are happy to welcome Mykhailo to Chelsea. He is a really exciting talent, and we think he will make a great addition to our team both now and in the future.
“He will add further depth to our attack and we know he’ll get a very warm welcome to London.”
