BREAKING: ‘We Are Not Interested’ – Residents Boo Buhari In Katsina

After President Muhammadu Buhari dedicated the recently built underpass bridge along Kofar Kaura Road on Thursday, hoodlums and some young Almajiris’ rushed to the streets and threw stones.

According to a witness who spoke to some journalists, the hoodlums were also seen throwing stones at the building site while yelling in Hausa, “we are not interested.”

Security agents worked with vigilantes to eventually calm the commotion, which had lasted more than 30 minutes.

To quell the situation, teargas was used; however, while covering the president’s actions, some journalists are said to have inhaled the teargas smoke.

In response to the development, Katsina Police Command spokesperson SP Gambo Isah said there was absolutely no protest and that Mr. President was not jeered as certain media outlets had said.

However, he said that police officers detained some thugs stirring up trouble near Sabuwar Unguwa, a known location in the state for Indian hemp and heroin traders.

In order to commission various projects carried out by the state administration, President Buhari is paying a two-day visit to his home state.
